How do parent participation preschools benefit the child, the parents, and the community?
The child gains the ability to relate to and communicate with other children, as well as adults. The child experiences a variety of play equipment, expressive materials, and media, resulting in a positive attitude towards learning. The child also gains self-esteem.
The parents gain an opportunity to learn and develop with their child as well as an increased awareness of the role of education in developing an effective and satisfying family life.
The community gains children who are learning respect for others, and families with a sense of community responsibility.

What level of parent involvement is expected?
Classroom: Each child’s family is responsible to volunteer as a “working parent” in the classroom approximately 1-2 times per month.
Field Trips: Students take field trips approximately once per month.
Training: at the beginning of the school year, new parents are required to attend training to learn about classroom management, safety, etc. as well as to attend a state-required Shaken Baby Syndrome class.
Cleaning: Each family is expected to help clean the preschool once a year for 2-3 hours each time.
Fund-raising: Each family participates in at least one fund raiser for the school annually.
All of these family contributions help keep our tuition costs low and build our sense of community!

Do the students take field trips?
Field trips are scheduled once a month and include a diverse range of cultural and educational experiences. The cost of field trips is not included in tuition fees.
How many children and adults are in each class?
The 3-4 year old class has a maximum of 18 students, with one teacher and two working parents.
The 4-5 year old class has a maximum of 21 students, with one teacher and two working parents.
The 4K class has a maximum of 21 students, with one teacher and one assistant teacher.
The 4-5 year old class has a maximum of 21 students, with one teacher and two working parents.

Do students need to be potty trained?
Children need to be potty trained by the first day of class.
How old do children need to be to enroll?
Children need to be 3 by September 1 of the enrollment year for the 3-4 year old class.
Children need to be 4 by September 1 of the enrollment year for the 3-5 year old class.
Children need to be 4 by September 1 of the enrollment year for the 4K class.
Children need to be 4 by September 1 of the enrollment year for the 3-5 year old class.

The school is located in First English Lutheran Church. Is it a Lutheran school?
CCP is a non-denominational Christian preschool. Underlying the entire program is the concept of Christianity and God's great love for each individual child. First English Lutheran Church graciously hosts the school.
Are scholarships available?
Yes, scholarships are available based on need. Click here for the Scholarship Application.
Is CCP licensed or accredited?
CCP is licensed by the State of Wisconsin.

What is the primary purpose of preschool?
The basic goal of the school is to aid each child to develop as a competent creative person who will be able to function effectively as a human being. Tasks and experiences are offered to aid development of the "whole" child. See our Educational Policy page for more information.
When does enrollment begin?
Enrollment for the following year begins in January and continues until classes are full.
I understand that parents are asked to help in the classroom. Is it possible for grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. to help instead of a parent?
Yes, CCP welcomes grandparents and other family members to volunteer in the classroom! All classroom volunteers must complete training and background checks.
